 Three MCS majors were awarded the  J.E. Wallace Sterling Scholastic Award for distinguished academic performance at Stanford.  These awards are presented only to the top seniors in the School of Humanities and Sciences.

The J.E. Wallace Sterling Award for Scholastic Achievement

Established in 2006, this award is one of Stanford's most selective recognitions of a student's overall academic performance. The top 25 graduating seniors in the School of Humanities and Sciences are honored for their efforts and academic achievements throughout their undergraduate education.

As part of this award, each recipient is presented with:

  • The in-person recognition of the secondary school teacher whom the awardee names as the most influential instructor in their scholastic career
  • The recognition of the academic advisor at Stanford or recognition of other influential Stanford faculty or staff member
  • A luncheon celebrating the reception of this award along with all other award recipients
